D'Vine Ryte a power rock band from 90's Rocked with all the best, in all the best clubs the New York Tri State Area had to offer! From the China Club to Sundance, Hammerheadz, Salty Dog, Spit, The Roxy, Tommy Knockers, My Fathers Place, you name it we played it!  D'Vine Ryte was a staple on Long Island for many years. There was no better time than that as a musician, the giant stage - kicking watts from a screaming PA and the lights - Combine it with heavy rocking power chords and the stage came alive! Toured with National Recording Artists, Warrant, Missing Persons, Hughie Lewis and Nino Bettencourt.  1992-1997

All remaing menbers are still playing and often still jam together.  A re-union concert is planned for summer 2011!

Bio

D'Vine Ryte formed in 1992 literally on the steps of lead guitarist Rob Henderson’s home in East Northport NY. Rob Henderson and Lorraine Lisa (Lead Vocal) formed D’Vine Ryte in 1990. For two years they collaborated on material and style. By 1992 it was time to move forward and bring the rhythms to life. In September of ‘92 they were introduced to singer song writer John McCarthy (Guitars & Backing Vocals). John a seasoned guitarist and song writer who had been playing the circuit for many years and was attending college at Five Towns Music College at the time.
That day in September actually was a life changing moment for the band. Not only would this trio go on to create some incredible rock music but have remained friends for some twenty years and now have “family ties.” Chris Warren bassist from a band called The Few and Hammer of the Gods (Led Zepplin Tribute) was the second choice of membership. Rob having jammed with Chris prior he knew his heavy chops and love of the route note would be the perfect fit. Lastly the drummer, the engine, probably the most important factor in a rock band. With that in mind John and Rob called on Tim Foley. A well-known drummer from the Northport, LI area. Tim’s drive and back beat is what solidified D’Vine Ryte.
About 6 months into project, both Chris Warren and Tim Foley had left the band. Both married at the time found the commitment too much on their personal life with tours ahead and now label commitments.
D’Vine Ryte was rehearsing at Maxx Volume Audio in Brentwood New York. Owner Bill Hoey and his brother Jim operated the sound studio. As regular clients of Maxx Volume, we had a pre rented room. So not to lose the studio time Rob, John and Lorraine pushed forward and rehearsed as usual, auditioning new artists for drums and bass. We knew that Bill was a seasoned drummer. One of Long Islands Best but had currently been involved with other projects. We decided to ask Bill knowing he had other obligations. His reply was a surprising yes but with one stipulation that his bass player Brian McGovern came along as a package deal! That was a simple decision!
Full steam ahead for D’Vine Ryte. This project is often considered metal to some listeners. We feel it has a metallic flair to it, so we call it Metallic Rock. The band toured the USA from 1992 to 1997, toured with National Recording Artists, Warrant, Missing Persons and Hughie Lewis. Recorded three demo’s which in 1995 were combined to make their one album “When.”
Sadly D’Vine Ryte lost bassist Brian McGovern (RIP) at the pinnacle of their music career. All other members are still in contact and have recently been jamming together and the long awaited second CD is on the verge of being recorded.
John and Lorraine still reside in the Northport Area and Rob on the Eastern End of Long Island. Sadly Bill Hoey is in Texas and will not be part of the DVR Reunion; however he is always a staple member. Keith Ratigan will be drumming for the band along with original bass player Chris Warren.
